I International Congress: Opportunities for Innovation in Education and Communication in the 21st Century. Post-Pandemic Realities

The I International Congress: Opportunities for Innovation in Education and Communication in the 21st Century. Post-Pandemic Realities, organized by the Vice-Rectorate for Faculty, Research and Development through various students of our doctoral programs in education and communication and their faculty, was held on 31 May, 1 and 2 June 2023. Over the three days, presentations were given on education and communication following the global pandemic we experienced.

The event welcomed more than 1000 viewers who followed the presentations via YouTube, 45 presentations delivered by professionals from different countries (Colombia, Peru, the Netherlands, Cuba, Costa Rica, Mexico, etc.). We had the pleasure of being joined by the Rector of UNADE, Dr. Gladys Adriana Roldán Martín, who opened the congress and welcomed all speakers and attendees. We also had as guests 6 keynote speakers, professionals with extensive experience and knowledge on the subject:

  • Elsa María Fueyo Hernández – Innovative teaching, the path toward improvement.
  • Ivonne Guillén – Post-pandemic organizational communication: challenges and opportunities.
  • Francisco Perea Mosquera – Decolonizing pedagogy: the case of Sung Narratives.
  • Miriam Bautista Arias – Discourse analysis as a tool for studying political violence in language.
  • Óscar José Useche Aldana – From community social residence to war in the territories: its role in peace processes.
  • María de la Luz Luévano Martínez – Unveiling gender violence through the autoethnographic method.
Topics of the congress working panels

During the congress, research projects and experiences on different programs were presented across five working panels:

Panel 1. Organizational communication
Lines: Management models, Communication models within organizations, Franchises, Agile work teams, Management of integrated marketing communications.
Panel 2. Political Communication
Lines: Discourse analysis, Media analysis and its relationship with politics, The rise of new media and their impact on politics.
Panel 3. Changes in cultural and scientific communication
Lines: Edu-communication; Interculturality; digital communities; Digital citizenship; Digital narratives; Influencers; the Internet and its sociocultural impact: individual, family, community and educational spheres.
Panel 4. Innovation in educational settings.
Lines: Biopedagogy; Inclusive education, culture and equity; curricular flexibility; Other pedagogies, a view from the pluriverse.
Panel 5. Methodological proposals, innovative pedagogical models and strategies.
Lines: ICT-mediated; virtual proposals; LMS, e-learning; Co-creation of knowledge; post-pandemic education: advantages and disadvantages of online education, adaptation and training of teachers for the virtual environment, consequences on educational processes post-pandemic.
Panel 6. Education and Peace.
Lines: Educational alternatives in conflict environments; Mediation; Migration and its educational reality; Repairing harm in school environments. The congress was closed by the Rector of UNADE, Dr. Gladys Adriana Roldán Martín.
