II Congress: Opportunities for Innovation in Education and Communication in the 21st Century
On 24, 25 and 26 June 2024, the II International Congress: Opportunities for Innovation in Education and Communication in the 21st Century was held, organized by the Vice-Rectorate for Faculty, Research and Development through UNADE.
The event was very well received, reaching more than 2500 people who registered to follow the presentations live via YouTube. There were a total of 26 presentations delivered by different education and communication professionals from countries such as Colombia, Ecuador, Spain, Mexico and Peru. Dr. Mireya Frausto, Rector of the university, opened the congress and welcomed all attendees and speakers, reiterating the importance of carrying out activities of this kind to promote the dissemination and sharing of knowledge.
Keynote presentations of the II congress
Among the speakers, we had 3 keynote presentations given by professionals with extensive experience, training and knowledge on the subject:
- Diana Morela Escobar – Social pedagogy and environmental education: challenges from action research.
- Abel López Busto – Information and Communication Technologies in schools. Their use in administration and management and as teaching instruments.
- Andrés Marino Osorio Herrera – School leaders and teachers as agents of change: promoting the responsible use of Artificial Intelligence in schools.

Working panels of the II congress
The remaining presentations revolved around five working panels, such as:
Panel 1. Artificial Intelligence. Technology and digital learning.
Lines: Integration of Artificial Intelligence in learning environments and in the classroom; Innovative educational tools and platforms; Online learning and distance education models.
Panel 2. Pedagogical Innovation. Inclusion and Diversity in Education.
Lines: Active and participatory methodologies; Post-pandemic education: advantages and disadvantages of online education; Adaptation and training of teachers for the virtual environment, consequences on educational processes post-pandemic; Equitable access to education in digital environments; Promotion of inclusion through technology; Inclusive education, culture and equity; curricular flexibility; Other pedagogies, a view from the pluriverse.
Panel 3. Educational Communication and the Media.
Lines: Role of the media in education; Effective communication strategies in educational settings; Digital narratives and their impact on teaching.
Panel 4. Organizational communication.
Lines: Management models: Communication models within organizations; Franchises; Agile work teams; Management of integrated marketing communications. Role of Artificial Intelligence in organizations.
Panel 5. Changes in cultural and scientific communication.
Lines: Edu-communication; Interculturality; digital communities; Digital citizenship; Digital narratives; Influencers; the Internet and its sociocultural impact: individual, family, community and educational spheres.
During the II congress, various education and communication initiatives that were previously unknown were presented, providing the opportunity to learn about advances in technology and, specifically, about artificial intelligence.
