My experience during the development of my thesis in the Doctorate in Projects at the American University of Europe (UNADE) has been very significant, both in the academic and personal spheres. Throughout this process, I was able to strengthen my training as a researcher, better organize my ideas and build a doctoral work with greater methodological, technical and scientific rigor. The support received from the academic staff was essential. During the different stages of the thesis, I had guidance, observations and recommendations that allowed me to improve the structure of the study, specify the objectives, strengthen the methodology and give greater clarity to the results obtained. This academic follow-up helped me understand that a doctoral thesis not only requires discipline, but also openness to review, correct and improve each section of the work. Likewise, the attention of the UNADE administrative staff was cordial, respectful and timely. In the different procedures and institutional processes, I received support to follow up on the academic, administrative and documentary requirements necessary to advance in the program. This attention facilitated the development of my doctoral career and allowed me to concentrate with greater security on the advancement of my research. My thesis, titled “Evaluation of seismic vulnerability levels in homes in the city of Villahermosa, Tabasco, Mexico”, represented an important challenge, since it integrated structural, geotechnical and construction aspects in an urban context with homes built under diverse conditions. However, thanks to the support received, it was possible to consolidate a proposal aimed at identifying vulnerability factors and providing useful information for the structural safety of homes. In general terms, my experience at UNADE has been positive and enriching. The doctoral process allowed me to grow professionally, strengthen my analytical skills and reaffirm my commitment to applied research. Furthermore, it taught me an important lesson: academic projects acquire greater value when there is institutional support, personal responsibility and a clear vision of the contribution that one wishes to make to society. The process acquired with UNADE highlights the relevance and importance of the significant advances in education worldwide, since several people have been able to access a Doctorate level study, something very difficult and impossible for a high percentage of Colombian society and other developing countries. Thanks to the implementation of distance and virtual methodologies, we have been able to interconnect with professionals from other countries to develop our purpose in improving personal conditions, acquiring skills and knowledge that mainly mean innovation in education. Therefore, I thank UNADE for its space, its agreements with different Colombian entities and others so that we can access without major inconvenience. Greetings. After completing my Master in U.S. Law, I am proud to share that I have begun my Doctorate in Law journey. Education has always been one of my greatest passions, and I believe that learning never truly ends.
